Defect details: Regarding the initial field-of-view setting (Default View), the law came into effect on May 1, 2018. However, since designs prior to the enforcement were reflected as they were, the rear monitor does not meet the conditions for the initial field-of-view setting. If a user sets the camera display settings (brightness, contrast, black level, hue, color) so low that the monitor is not visible and then shifts the gear to reverse, the monitor may not reset to the necessary initial values, making it possible that the rear monitor cannot be checked, leading to a potential recall.
Recall Post Date: July 27, 2020
Correction method: After inspection, if necessary, replace the audio head unit and then update the rear monitor system software. <*This measure is a recall implemented by changing the corrective action method after it was additionally confirmed that vehicles subject to the recall carried out since December 2019 may have been equipped with an earlier version of the audio head unit. Therefore, if the action has already been taken at an official Nissan service center before receiving the notification letter, additional action may not be required.
