If a signal malfunction occurs, the system switches to safe mode, causing the brake warning light to illuminate and a check control message to be displayed on the central monitor. Depending on the situation, it may be necessary to apply greater force to the brake operation, and braking distance may increase. At the same time, it has been confirmed that there is a possibility that the ABS and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) functions may not operate, leading to a recall.

<Production dates by target vehicle>

BMW 218d Active Tourer: 2022.11.17~2024.08. 21

BMW 220i Active Tourer: 2022.10.10~2024.08.22

BMW 520d xDrive Sedan: 2023.09.08~2024.02.05

BMW 520i: 2023.06.20~2024.10.16

BMW 523d: 2023.07.12~2024.08.02

BMW 523d xDrive: 2023.06.20~2024.07.16

BMW 525Li Sedan CHN: 2024.01.24~

BMW 530e: 2022.12.12~2024.10.16

BMW 530e xDrive Sedan: 2024.06.14~2024. 10.16

BMW 530i: 2023.11.10~

BMW 530i xDrive: 2022.07.19~2024.10.16

BMW 530i xDrive: 2023.08.24~

BMW 550e xDrive Sedan: 2024.06.27~2024.07.31

BMW 740d xDrive: 2022.10.13~2024.08.02

BMW 740i: 2021.08.25~2023.09.29

BMW 740i xDrive: 2023.06.19~2024.08.02

BMW 750e xDrive: 2023.02.09~2024.08. 02

BMW 760i xDrive: 2023.02.07~

BMW i5 eDrive40: 2024.07.29~2024.08.02

BMW i5 eDrive40: 2024.02.27~

BMW i5 M60 xDrive: 2022.12.14~2024.08.01

BMW i5 M60 xDrive: 2023.09.13~

BMW i5 xDrive40: 2024.02.14~2024.07.25

BMW i7 eDrive50: 2023.06.30~2024.08.02

BMW i7 M70 xDrive: 2023.07.28~2024.07. 22

BMW i7 xDrive60: 2022.02.15~2024.08.01

BMW iX1 eDrive20: 2023.11.17~

BMW iX1 xDrive30: 2022.11.08~2024.08.23

BMW iX2 eDrive20: 2024.03.01~2024.07.30

BMW M5 Sedan: 2024.07.04~2024.07.15

BMW X1 M35i xDrive: 2023.07.19~2024.08.09

BMW X1 sDrive18d: 2022.11.29~2024.08.09

BMW X1 sDrive20i: 2022.11. 02~2024.02.21

BMW X1 xDrive20i: 2023.07.01~2024.08.12

BMW X1 xDrive28i: 2022.12.07~2024.05.24

BMW X2 M35i xDrive: 2024.02.20~2024.08.05

BMW X2 xDrive20i: 2024.01.11~2024.08.12

BMW X5 M Competition: 2023.05.06~2024.08.29

BMW X5 M Competition: 2024.07.30~

BMW X5 M60i xDrive: 2023.03.29~2024.08. 24

BMW X5 sDrive40i: 2024.08.07~2024.08.07

BMW X5 xDrive30d: 2023.02.28~2024.08.31

BMW X5 xDrive40d: 2023.08.08~2024.09.04

BMW X5 xDrive40i: 2023.02.23~2024.09.03

BMW X5 xDrive40i: 2023.06.09~2024.08.11

BMW X5 xDrive50e: 2023.03.29~2024.09.04

BMW X5 xDrive50e: 2023.06.12~2023.11. 11

BMW X5 xDrive50e RHD: 2023.08.09~2023.08.09

BMW X6 M Competition: 2023.03.22~2024.08.28

BMW X6 M60i xDrive: 2022.04.27~2024.08.27

BMW X6 xDrive30d M Sport: 2023.03.07~2024.08.27

BMW X6 xDrive40d : 2023.08.15~2024.08.30

BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport: 2023.03.09~2024.08.29

BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport: 2024.02. 23~2024.02.23

BMW X7 M60i xDrive: 2021.08.22~2024.08.24

BMW X7 M60i xDrive: 2022.08.22~2023.04.28

BMW X7 xDrive40d: 2022.07.20~2024.09.04

BMW X7 xDrive40i: 2022.07.15~2024.09.04

BMW X7 xDrive40i: 2022.10.04~2024.06.14

BMW XM: 2022.02.24~2024.07.24

BMW XM Label: 2023.07.17~2024.06. 20

MINI Aceman SE CHN2023.11.13~2024.01.11

MINI Cooper C: 2024.06.13~2024.08.09

MINI Cooper S: 2024.03.11~2024.08.06

MINI Cooper S 5-doors: 2024.06.13~2024.08.09

MINI Cooper SE: 2023.05.16~2027.07.25

MINI Countryman E: 2024.02.23~2024.08.02

MINI Countryman S ALL4: 2024.01.15~2024.08. 09

MINI Countryman SE ALL4: 2024.02.27~2024.08.01

MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4: 2024.03.08~2024.08.10

Rolls Royce Spectre2023.06.05~2024.05.10

In such cases, when the brake is pressed while driving, the servo motor position sensor may not operate normally, causing the brake warning light to illuminate and a check control message to appear on the central monitor, and there is a possibility that braking force could weaken, leading to an extended braking distance, which has led to a recall.

<*Production dates by target vehicle>

BMW 218d Active Tourer: 2022.11.17~2023.07.04

BMW 220i Active Tourer: 2022.10.10~2023.07.05

BMW 520i: 2023.06. 20~2023.07.18

BMW 523d: 2023.07.18~2023.07.18

BMW 523d xDrive: 2023.06.20~2023.07.06

BMW 530i xDrive: 2023.06.19~2023.07.18

BMW 740d xDrive: 2022.10.13~2023.10.12

BMW 740i: 2022.06.20~2023.06.27

BMW 740i xDrive: 2023.06.19~2023.09.05

BMW 750e xDrive: 2023.02.09~2023.06.27

BMW i5 eDrive40: 2023.06. 29~2023.07.07

BMW i5 M60 xDrive: 2023.06.27~2023.07.07

BMW i7 eDrive50: 2023.06.30~2023.07.07

BMW i7 xDrive60: 2022.07.01~2023.06.27

BMW iX1 xDrive30: 2022.11.08~2023.06.29

BMW X1 sDrive18d: 2022.11.29~2023.06.27

BMW X1 sDrive20i: 2022.11.02~2023.06.29

BMW X1 xDrive20i: 2023.07.01~2023.07. 07

BMW X1 xDrive28i: 2022.12.07~2023.04.17

BMW X5 M Competition: 2023.03.22~2023.07.19

BMW X5 M60i xDrive: 2023.03.29~2023.07.18

BMW X5 xDrive30d: 2023.02.28~2023.07.26

BMW X5 xDrive40i: 2023.02.23~2023.07.31

BMW X5 xDrive40i: 2023.06.09~2023.06.09

BMW X5 xDrive50e: 2023.03.29~2023.07. 28

BMW X6 M Competition: 2023.03.22~2023.07.19

BMW X6 M60i xDrive: 2023.02.23~2023.07.25

BMW X6 xDrive30d M Sport: 2023.03.01~2023.07.20

BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport: 2023.03.09~2023.07.26

BMW X7 M60i xDrive: 2022.07.15~2023.07.21

BMW X7 M60i xDrive: 2022.08.22~2023.04.28

BMW X7 xDrive40d: 2022.07.20~2023.07. 26

BMW X7 xDrive40i: 2022.07.15~2023.08.02

BMW X7 xDrive40i: 2022.10.04~2023.06.29

BMW XM: 2022.12.05~2023.08.01

BMW XM Label: 2023.07.17~2023.07.17

Rolls-Royce Spectre: 2023.06.05~2023.06.12

target device: Steering system and other

Defect details:
During the vehicle production process, the failure to ground due to the missing washer at the connection of the ground cable related to ADASS (Advanced Driver Assistance Steering System) within the steering wheel may cause the ADASS function to not operate normally. In such cases, even if the driver's hands are not on the steering wheel, it may be recognized as if hands are on it, potentially preventing the ADASS 'hands-off warning function' from operating or the ADASS from being disengaged. This may lead to a recall (*This does not meet the safety standards set forth in Article 89 (Steering System), Paragraph 2 of the 'Regulations on the Performance and Standards of Automobiles and Automotive Parts,' and there is a risk of an accident if the driver is unable to properly recognize the ADASS deactivation state).
